Window tint vs window sunshades?
If we compare windows tints vs sunshades both have separate advantages and disadvantages.
As we are all witnessing, the worldwide global warming effects and the change in weather all over the world are making the summers become hotter and winters become colder and colder.
The people living in the regions where the summer season records very high temperatures have to face too many difficulties and one of them is to bear the hot car cabins in the daytime when the sun is shining right on the top.
There are various solutions available to cope with a heated cabin, but car owners always have confusions about which one is more effective.
Here we discuss window tints and sunshades, and which one is more effective.
Window sunshades are a very effective tool for getting a car to stay cool in the summer and a very cost-effective solution to a heated cabin, whereas tints required some additional effort and cannot be installed easily.
What is the Difference between Sunshades and Window tint?
Sunshades are detachable and folding fiber sheets used to set on windscreens and sometimes on back screens to reflect the heat of direct sunlight and it is very effective in summer. Sunshades can be installed and removed easily whereas tints require a professional who can install them in the window glass.
Whereas window tints are the aftermarket dark color plastic like sunscreen which is also used to diffuse direct sunlight and mostly these tints are applied on side windows and back screens.
What is the purpose of sunshades?
The basic purpose of a sunshade is to block the heat of sunlight to distort the vehicle interior and at the same time, it serves as a very effective tool to keep your car relatively cooler during summer.
One can easily feel the difference between the car cabin temperature which is parked with sunshades and the one which is parked without sunshades on.
How effective car sunshades are?
If we compare sunshades with window tints we can easily say that sunshades are more effective because it has a dual purpose, sunshades not only protect the car from heating but it also saves the interiors and dashboard of the car from the sun.
How much does sunshade reduce heat?
A car with sunshades on can block the heat to enter the cabin and the temperature may be restricted up to 110°F or 115°F this means that sunshades are very useful not only for blocking heat but also helps you to save your car dashboard, seat fabrics, and other plastic-based components.
To what extent does sunshade work?
On a typical hot summer day if your car is parked in an open space your car’s inside temperature may likely rise to around 150°F to 170°F, especially the area underneath your windscreen may receive the higher temperature effect as compared to other parts of the car interior.
As per a few research experiments carried out, if a car is parked for almost an hour in bright sunshine on a hot summer day the inside temperature may likely rise to 200°F. This amount of heat can easily ruin your car’s interior parts, especially the dashboard’s upper area may deteriorate very fast and cracks may start showing on the dashboard.
On the other hand, if another car is parked in the same spot and the car owner is using sunshades now this is a different scenario, the sunshades work as a heat reflector and due to the special material used in sunshades they resist the heat to pass through.
